I have an 8 port TP-Link TL-SG108E managed switch connected to my pcWRT ax1800. I’m trying to test out VLANs using a laptop and a PC connected to ports 1 & 2 of the switch. In the switches management console I configured port 1(untagged) with a VLAN ID of 4 to correspond with the X1 VLAN on the router and left port 2(untagged) of the switch on the default VLAN with an ID of 1 which corresponds to the LAN VLAN on the router. The switch is connected to the routers LAN1 via it’s port8 which is tagged on both VLANs. In the routers VLAN menu, the check box “tagged” is selected and LAN is in the dropdown menu.

With this configuration, the device on port 1 of the switch (VLAN ID 4) has no connection but I can’t figure out why since it should connect to the X1 VLAN on the router. Any ideas what I’m doing wrong?

Can you check the port number on the router side? Port 1 is the leftmost port, labeled LAN3 on the box.

    Hi Flixplusmax
Was the problem in the port numbering of the router as Support asked ?
