When accessing the router login it showing as unencrypted, is there a way to login under HTTPS?

Just use https://192.168.10.1. You’ll get a warning that the TLS certificate is self-signed. But everything should be fine after you confirm.

    ok,

What happens if you decided to use a different local private address, it seems to come across a issue.

If you use some other IP address you won’t be accessing the router’s web page, but something else 😉

If you changed the router’s LAN IP address to 192.168.50.1, for example, then the URL would be https://192.168.50.1

    understanding from private addresses

    Reserved Ranges:
Specific ranges of IPv4 addresses are reserved by the Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA) for private use, including:
    A -10.0.0.0 to 10.255.255.255
    B – 172.16.0.0 to 172.31.255.255
    C- 192.168.0.0 to 192.168.255.255

So if you uses theses private address with the https part you should be able to access the router login, but if the firmware was only coded to use Class C ONLY then I assume that would be the problem.
