I just updated the firmware in my router after backing it up. After updating, the network worked fine, but I was unable to login to the router. I received the following message with a stack trace: “failed to execute controller function: bad argument #1 to ‘lower’ (string expected, got nil)”

Thanks for the update. Can I force an update via CLI or other interface. I’m unable to login to the router via the web interface due to the error.

After you get the error, go to the address bar on your browser, change “status” at the very end of the URL to “settings” and hit enter. This will bring up the Settings page and you can upgrade from there.
