internet with vpn on is waay slower than using the vpn on the desktop

even when i use the same servers, that are fast, it is still really slow compared to the desktop app, so is there anything i can do?

i am using wireguard via mullvadvpn los angeles 6023 server which is a 10Gbps server, and the router is the ax1800, or if you mean my internet chip thingy in the pc, then i am not sure

200-300 Mbps on average with vpn connected, 700+ without

i have the vpn directly on the lan btw, because i am the only one who uses the internet

The max speed with WireGuard for the AX1800 is 500Mbps. You should be able to get that if the VPN server is fast enough.
