pcWRT firmware v2.8.1 Release Notes

There are two updates in this release:

1. Bugfix: unable to upgrade system firmware in Access Point mode
2. Add functionality to split tunnel between two VPN connections. Before this, you can only split tunnel between a VPN and your ISP connection.

This release supersedes v2.8.0, v2.7.9, v2.7.8 and v2.7.7, i.e., if after upgrading you want to roll back, you’ll roll back to v2.7.6.

Upgrade steps:

1. Have your configuration backup ready. Create a backup file for your current configuration, if you don’t have one.
2. Click the “Check for Updates” button in the System Settings page. Follow the instructions to upgrade.
3. After successful upgrade, create a new router settings backup file from the System Settings page and save it in a safe place.
