pcWRT firmware v2.8.5 Release Notes

There are two updates in this release:

1. Add remote management functionality for VPN
2. Add mesh functionality for PW-AX1800 model

Upgrade steps:

1. Have your configuration backup ready. Create a backup file for your current configuration, if you don’t have one.
2. Click the “Check for Updates” button in the System Settings page. Follow the instructions to upgrade.
3. After successful upgrade, create a new router settings backup file from the System Settings page and save it in a safe place.

The firmware version has been bumped up to v2.8.6 for a hot fix to a bug that blocked the Status page in certain scenarios. If you are on v2.8.5, you can update again to get this fix.
