    I don’t see this covered anywhere. I presume that one must never restore settings from one model to a different model or bad things could happen.

    However I also presume that restoring access control settings saved from one model can indeed by uploaded to a different model.

    I also presume it would be wisest to make sure the two different models were running the same firmware.

    In my case I am upgrading from Newifi D2 to PW Ax1800. Obviously it would be great to upload as much as possible, but common sense warns me to be careful.

    NOTE: it is well documented that Toronto-N model has some special restrictions when updating fromearlier software to later software given WiFi upgrade. Not relevant for me.

    You can restore full backup files across hardware models since v2.6.2. VPN passwords, Cloud management key and DDNS password will be scrambled and you need to manually fix them. You may also want to inspect Network and Wireless settings to make sure they are OK.

    Wow, that’s great.I already did the partial upload and re-entered stuff, but great to know for the future. AM excited to get the AX1800 up and running. I will then use the D2 in access point mode to extend upstairs.
