I ended up rolling back to 1.27 and everything is working. I’m not sure what happened. I’ll try the upgrade again at some point.

That is great to hear! As long as my settings are not lost that is fine…maybe the timeout will be fixed as well. I use the Google Chrome browser if that makes a difference.

I had to reboot a couple of time last night but the router never received an IP address from my ISP until I unplugged the WAN cable and plugged it back in. Should that still be happening? Is there something else I could try?

Were you guys ever able to replicate this? It happened this evening and I lost all of my MAC address reservations as well as my port forwards. Using the pcwrt.com UI works perfectly, though.

Looks great, thanks! I really like the temporary time modification features as well.

I really like the new 1.25 update, the logging is great!

I had to reboot my router after the update was applied but it did not acquire an IP address from my cable modem. Did that fix make it into this update? If so I can reboot the router again this evening to try.

    Thanks for the DNS clarification!

I could never get the hostnames to resolve, but I might have missed something. I added entries to the HOSTS section on the router a couple of days ago. I removed my local HOSTS entries yesterday, flushed my local resolver cache and tried to ping them but they still did not resolve. I used nslookup specifying the pCWRT router, but the lookups still failed. The names I gave them for their DHCP reservation still work fine. I haven’t tried SSH’ing to the router to test it, though. Perhaps what I am trying to do is not possible right now?

I believe my issues with remote management are tied to the IP acquisition after rebooting the router. After I login to the router, go to Settings – Cloud and click Update, I am able to access the remote management interface.

The WiFi issue seems to be isolated to the 2.4 Ghz radio. When it “locks up” I can still attempt to connect, but it never accepts my passkey when I am positive I am entering it correctly. I am able to connect to the 5 Ghz radio, though, and can connect to another wireless access point in my network. I am still able to access the Internet with the pcWRT router as the main access point. I verified that the wireless channels are not overlapping.

Any headway with the IP acquisition?

I was able to access the remote management site last night, but can’t this morning. I verified that DNS-O-Matic has the current external IP. It checked in last at 3am (Central Time).

I will check the wifi channel today and adjust it, and can ssh into it to see if the logs show anything.

Thanks for the replies and info!

Was this included with the latest C7 firmware update? I’ve had to reboot my pcWRT router a couple of times since upgrading but it did not acquire an IP from the cable modem until I unplugged and reconnected the cable.

Those lists seem to be in a random order. Sorting those lists and the Status screen would very helpful. The firmware check says I have the latest: Archer-C7-v2 v1.21.5.

Yes, if I unplug the WAN Ethernet cable and reconnect it, the router gets an IP and everything works.

There is only a “Used-Like New” option right now, are there more of these on the way (https://smile.amazon.com/Archer-C7-pcWRT-SafeSearch-Management/dp/B01GLOKHAG/)? Has there been any progress on your own gigabit router?

This really looks like the great parental control solution. Do you have any news about the upcoming AC1200 router with Gigabit? I hope to replace my ASUS RT-AC87U with it. Can you share any other specs about it?
