I tried also to disconnect the powerline adapters but the problem is in the Access Control, when disabled the things work.

I don’t want give you another problem to solve, but i don’t know what to do.

I tried everything but my file sharing programs as eMule or Torrent don’t work with the Access Control enabled.

Obviously, when i enable the Access Control, i leave unchecked “Literal IP Addresses” and “VPN, Proxy, Tor”, and the Black and White List are empty.

The unique way is to disable it. When enabled, the light on both programs are Red, when disabled, they’re green, the connectivity works and it’s all right.

I want to use these programs WITH Access Control enabled.

My firmware is 1.28.1, the TP-Link modem is on Bridge Mode, and i have opened the ports in the “Port Forwards”. When, with this setting, the Access Control is enabled i can’t use them, when disabled i can.

    The ports are:

qBittorrent = 43591 (TCP and UDP)
    eMule = TCP (47536), UDP (49652)

i tried to change the ports with other ones, the same result. I have a hobby for old black and white movies and i use these programs often.

Ok, i can see it in the Status Page, thanks.

Ok, it works. Just a question:

both powerline and the pc attached to it have static ip addresses, powerline (192.168.1.10) and the pc (192.168.1.4).
I havew renamed these devices “Powerline” and “SmallPC”.

Now, if i want to create a profile in the access control, which profile i have to choose? “Powerline” or “SmallPC”? And why, in the “Connected Devices” in the status page i see only “Powerline” and not “SmallPC” anymore? It shows me just “Powerline” but not the pc attached to it.

I replaced that device with this, a much better one, with more functions:

    https://www.amazon.com/TP-Link-AV600-Powerline-WiFi-Extender/dp/B00HSQAIQU/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=TP-Link+TL-WPA4220&qid=1567619536&s=gateway&sr=8-1

but i have to ask you two things:

    1) What’s the best setting, in your opinion, for my home? To have 2 wifi network (one called “pcwrt”, the other one called “tp-link powerline”) or to “merge” the two in one? Is this possible? The device i’m buying have a function called “Wi-Fi Clone”, WPS, etc….

Now, i don’t understand so much these functions, so, can you give me the best idea for my wireless network? For me, it would be better if i had only one wifi network.

    2) pcwrt is on the channel 11. I have to set the other wifi on the channel 11 too?

The problem has been solved. I have done the reset of the modem/router (Tp-link), it has been the unique solution. There was something wrong in its settings maybe, i don’t know.

    Now it’s all right. Thanks.

Ok, i read that the 90% of cell phones have 1 single antenna internally only. That’s the reason. But, maybe, the problem can be solved if the router is setted on the range of 40 Mhz. Can pcwrt be setted on 40 Mhz? And if not, why this option is not avaible?

    Thanks.

I’ve checked. On my 2nd home pc, the connection is at 130 Mbps. On the smartphone the connection is 72 mbps, i’ve tested on 2 different smartphones.

Maybe i have to change the DNS in my windows internet settings too?

It doesn’t work anymore. I don’t know why.

The site i need is: iptorrents.com

My settings are: Access Control enabled with CleanBrowsing DNS. Then i’ve added this site in the white list.

In the internet setting there’s 8.8.8.8 at system level.

Always the same procedure but this time it doesn’t work.

I’ve rebooted pcwrt and my Tp-Link Modem/Router also. Cache and cookies cleaned, dns cleaned with “ipconfig /flushdns”, i’ve reboot the pc too. Nothing, this method doesn’t work anymore.

I’ve read that CleanBrowsing has done many changes at their DNS, can this be the reason?

OpenDNS is not that good. It has too much holes! You can read here:

    DNS Porn Filters Compared

CleanBrowsing is the best, i’m using it right now, it’s much better than OpenDNS.

    CleanBrowsing Family Filter:

    IPv4 address: 185.228.168.168 and 185.228.169.168

    IPv6 address: 2a0d:2a00:1:: and 2a0d:2a00:2::

P.S. For the pcwrt staff i can report you that Norton ConnectSafe doesn’t exist anymore. The service has been closed, those DNS doesn’t work anymore, you can check this news on internet. I think you can delete them from the DNS list.

No problem, I was the one who didn’t press enough to get it out. I want pcwrt again, but not in this condition.

Please, test it with a modem/router specifically made for the europe. Pcwrt has a problem about this. Or check, test the WAN port, i don’t know.

I’ve tried EVERYTHING, i’ve changed all the lan cables, i’ve bought a CAT 7 S/FTP, patch and crossed, i’ve tried all the avaible settings into pcwrt, i’ve bought a power surge protector, and now a new modem/router too, newer.

    https://www.amazon.it/gp/product/B01AJUJ3XK/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Everytime that i attach the pcwrt to any modem, i’ve always the same problem, the wan port doesn’t work.
Before, as you know, it barely transmitted the signal, every 2 or 3 minutes internet was down, now it has completely ceased all functions.

My technician said me that the router has not suffered any electrical failure or overvoltage, simply, the wan doesn’t transmit anything anymore.

I think that pcwrt is, REALLY, one of the best router nowday.

Let me know it, i wait for a your reply.

My technician, specialized in micro-hardware, has tested the router and he has found that the WAN port don’t work anymore. No longer transmits any signal.

But this router never worked well with me. It was defective from the beginning.

The wan port caused me many problems, now i understand why when I connected the pcwrt to my modem, it was almost impossibile to surf in internet:

Impossible to surf in internet with pcwrt!

and my internet connection without pcwrt is perfect.

I think that pcwrt is not totally compatible with the european standards, voltage etc…

The unique burnt port is the WAN port, the unique port attached to the D-Link, because the other LAN ports are perfect.

Please, test the pcwrt, maybe this product works well only in the USA.

I could even decide to buy again pcwrt, but not with this defect. This is a manufacturing or incompatibility problem. Maybe is not compatible with router specifically made for the europe, because pcwrt is specifically made for the USA.

    Please, test it.
