@Dan Here’s how to do it:
    1. Open Netflix in a browser (Chrome or Firefox will do).
    2. Press the F12 key. A developer toolbox will display.
    3. Click the Network tab.
    4. Start streaming with Netflix. You’ll see the requested URLs in the developer popup.
    5. Notice the URLs for video streams, those will probably be requested via IP addresses directly.
    6. Collect the IP addresses used.
    7. For each IP address, add a line in the Hosts box in the System Settings page, e.g., 54.214.39.210 netflix.com

@plook Please try the latest version v1.20.2. We added check boxes in network settings so that you can choose to turn stealth mode on/off, or block/allow ping.

If you enter this into your browser, what do you get?

    http://[USERNAME]:[PASSWORD]@updates.dnsomatic.com/nic/update?hostname=all.dnsomatic.com&myip=IP

Replace [USERNAME], [PASSWORD] and [IP] with real values. But please don’t post the values here, just the response from dnsomatic.

Eric, I gather that you were not able to log in WORDSEARCH 11. Was that the case? Did you get an error like “you must be connected to the Internet…”? If so, please consider upgrading your WORDSEARCH 11 application. There’s a link at the bottom of the splash screen for you to upgrade to the latest version of WORDSEARCH 11. Please let us know if that works.

P.S. it seems that www.wordsearchbible.com does not answer ping. But if you enter the URL in a web browser, you’ll be able to load the page.

@pachecot you need to upgrade your firmware. A new version was distributed on August 14. Let us know if you can’t locate it, we’ll send it to you.

in reply to: Now on Indiegogo! #336

Many asked about our Indiegogo campaign. Well, it didn’t work out well. We abandoned the campaign after just one week. We noticed that similar projects on crowd funding platforms didn’t function well either. A couple of years back, the Skydog router project did make a splash. But what it raised pales in comparison to the Ring or Gokey. Parental control is simply “uncool” to social media.

Instead of taking our time to chase media coverage, we spend the time to make pcWRT more solid. We believe this is good for us and our customers in the long run.

@jaybles7879 Thank you for bringing this to our attention. There was a bug in the reverse DNS lookup for LAN ip addresses. This is now fixed. We’ll distribute the updated firmware after we run through our tests.

@Paul, you beat me to it :). I was writing the note then a phone call came in…

in reply to: Calendar Configuration #209

@Paul, when you put time slots on the Calendar, the shaded areas are the allowed times. The blank areas are blocked times. If you click the Text tab, you’ll see a list of time slots, like this:

    03:00 am – 06:30 am
    11:30 am – 03:00 pm

That means the web sites listed for the Calendar (or all sites if none listed) are available from 3:00am to 6:30am, then again from 11:30am to 3:00pm.

Also please note that you enter sites, i.e., domain names or partial domain names here. So “http://” or “https://” are not needed. For example, yahoo.com covers all yahoo domains, such as mail.yahoo.com, finance.yahoo.com, etc. If you enter edu or .edu (both are equivalent), it covers all domains under the .edu TLD.

@Paul, you are right. No need to mess with Dynamic DNS or DNS updater.
