Goal: limit access to Discord (both Web site and installed app) to specific hours of the day

So far: Web access (browsing) is limited based on calendar and list of domains (discord.com, discordapp.com, etc.) – yay! But the application itself breezes right past this and connects regardless of time of day.

Any suggestions/ideas? My kids know they’re not supposed to chat with friends during homework time, but they’re *kids*.

Setting a calendar for discordapp.com should work. If not, you may want to add discord.gg as well. In general, you can check which sites were accessed when Discord is being used, by looking at the access logs: click the Access Control button, then click “View Logs”. The default view for logs is chart, but you may switch to “raw” view to reveal more details.
