On the Network Settings page, the “DHCP Start” is pretty self-explanitory but does “DHCP Limit” mean the 1) maximum number of DHCP leases that will be allowed (e.g. DHCP Start = 180, DHCP Limit = 10, Last possible DHCP lease is 189 (inclusive)) or does it mean 2) the RANGE of DHCP leases (e.g. DHCP Start = 100, DHCP Limit = 150, Maximum number of DHCP leases allowed = 51 (inclusive) from 100 to 150).

Limit specifies the size of the address pool. E.g., with start=100, limit=150, maximum address will be 249.

    Ok, I understand. Thanks.
Now I assume Static Leases do not need to remain within that range. Should they always be kept OUT of the DHCP range (e.g. the two never overlap)?

You don’t need to keep static lease out of the range. In fact, the easiest way to assign a static IP is to set a host name from the Status page, which assigns the host’s current dynamic IP as its static IP.
