Setting hostname based on MAC

I want the hostname displayed When looking at Status and Bandwidth Monitor.
Now sometimes the hostname is displayed, sometimes a MAC is displayed.
Evidently this can be done in OpenWRT https://superuser.com/questions/1260761/associate-mac-address-with-name-on-openwrt
I am hoping there is a GUI screen to do this; similar to the Hostnames and Static Leases settings without the static lease part.

You can assign a name by adding the device to the static lease page. What’s the scenario that makes a static IP lease undesirable?
