Hi, i found the wifi speed is 72Mbps only. I use the 2.4Ghz. It’s too slow for it, it would be at least 144-150 Mbps.

    Thanks to your blog:

How to avoid bad WiFi connection by changing the channel on your router

i found the best channel, it’s the channel 1. The stability is better now, but the speed is always the same.

I saw that pcwrt works on a bandwidth of 20Mhz, and this is the problem. I need to use the 40Mhz for to have more speed. Into my modem/router i can force the wifi using the 40 Mhz, but in pcwrt?

    How can i set it?

Is this happening on all your devices? You should be able to reach 144Mbps with 20 Mhz bandwidth.

I’ve checked. On my 2nd home pc, the connection is at 130 Mbps. On the smartphone the connection is 72 mbps, i’ve tested on 2 different smartphones.

It might be that your smartphone only supports speed up to 72 Mbps. You may try connecting the phone to a different WiFi network to confirm.

Ok, i read that the 90% of cell phones have 1 single antenna internally only. That’s the reason. But, maybe, the problem can be solved if the router is setted on the range of 40 Mhz. Can pcwrt be setted on 40 Mhz? And if not, why this option is not avaible?

    Thanks.

This option will be added in the next firmware update.

Give us the possibility to disable one of the two frequencies too. For example, i don’t use 5GHz and i would like to disable it. It’s useless in the initial setup to choose, forcedly, a 5Ghz password if i won’t have to use it.

    Thanks.
