    Hi,

I have a pcWRT (premium) installed on an Archer-A7-v5 v2.5.8
My Wi-Fi after a factory reset with the 2.4 & 5Ghz bands is still only around 200 up and down on a 300mbps connection, when right next to the router on the 5Ghz band, connection speed on Mac states 866mbps, on channel 36, 55snr. Wired to my M1 Mac Mini maxes out my internet connection. Is this a limitation with the Archer A7, as it’s an older router? I have ordered a COMFAST CF-XR10 hoping for better coverage and speed. Apart from turning on Access control, are there any other settings that impact Wi-Fi speed. Thank you for all your help, it’s very much appreciated. Andy Lowe

The speed you see is the best WiFi speed you can get on the Archer A7. If available, the Linksys ACS1900 will have better WiFi performance (and overall performance). If you bought a stock COMFAST CF-XR10, it probably won’t work. The stock COMFAST firmware won’t take our upgrade image.

Thank you, is this the fastest router I can flash pcWRT too at present?

Yes. The Linksys ACS1900 is the fastest at the moment.
