For incoming traffic, if you put the server under Access Control and configure white/black list on the profile, incoming traffic will be blocked/allowed accordingly. You can put single IP addresses like 123.45.67.8, or IP address range in CIDR format: 123.45.67.0/24. However, there’s no add-on to let you block by country.

@casino That’s almost impossible to do on a router, unless there’s a DNS service that filters out mirror sites.

There’s no sure way. But there aren’t many mirror sites around either.

@abeckman66 Unfortunately the effort stalled. Hopefully we’ll be able to resume it next year. But the web interface works on the phone screen as well. It’s not as neat as a native app, but it works.

@casino A mirror site basically hold a copy of another sites content. In your case, it should be safe to block sitemirror.net.

@casino The router can’t reliably distinguish traffic between TOR, VPN , Proxy etc., and P2P. It might be possible but would require a lot of effort and may bring a degradation of performance.

@abe Thanks for bringing this up. This function is not there yet, but we’ll find out what we can do in this regard.

@casino Sorry for the late reply.

1). While an additional password can be added just for Access Control, the current device management password has privileges to do everything to the device, including wipe out all settings (i.e., reset the device). So this won’t help you in your scenario.

2). The router allows pretty complex rules to be defined. We think it’s more concise to use URL patterns to define the rules, rather than using additional UI.

3). We can put in some limitations to deal with this scenario. Stay tuned.

4). This can’t be done. The router can not reliably distinguish TOR from proxy.

5). We can add some additional selections.

6). This is not possible. The router only knows about Internet connections, it doesn’t know which program initiated the connections. For example, when a connection to Facebook is made, the router doesn’t know whether the connection came from a browser, the Facebook app or Facebook messenger.

7). This won’t happen in the near future.

Sorry there’s no “complete” documentation at this moment. Most functions are documented in the forum topics. Some nitty-gritty are not fully documented. However, if you have questions, you can ask them here. And we’ll give you instructions specific to your scenario. Alternatively, you may send email to [email protected]. Thanks!

@casino Thanks for the suggestion. We won’t be able to implement this in the short term. In the meanwhile, you may try some workarounds.

For example, if it is possible to schedule a one hour window for some sites, create a calendar with a one hour window. The child will only be able to access those sites within the scheduled window.

If on-demand access is desired, you may create a calendar with no allowed time slots. So normally, the child won’t be able to access the sites. When access is requested, you can use the Calendar time extension function to temporarily allow access for the desired amount of time.

Is this stopping you from downloading files? Normally Vuze should just work without any port forwarding.

But if you did set up port forwarding, you may try to use this URL to see if the port is open: https://www.grc.com/x/portprobe=48756

@casino The router doesn’t block anything with Access Control disabled. If you are trying to make Vuze work, you don’t need to do any port forwarding.

@casino This can’t be done on the router. To the router, images and text are the same over HTTPS – just a bunch of bytes.

It is possible to do what you wanted to do by an app or browser plug in. But I’m not aware of any product that actually does that.

If you white list skype.com, all URLs you listed should be passing.

What are the reasons for blocking when you look at the logs?
