Yes. Just enter “net” or “info” in the Blocked URLs box. If you prefer, you can enter “.net” or “.info” instead.

@casino Can you provide more details about the UDP behavior? I.e., what you were trying to achieve and what was happening?

@abe Please reset the router again. When you connect to the router and load the management page, it will ask you to do initial setup again. After initial setup, you can restore configuration – but select to restore “Access Control” portion only. You’ll need to manually change settings like WiFi, Dynamic DNS, Cloud etc.

1). “:123U” means UDP port 123, which is the port used by NTP.

2). The router allows you to create multiple calendars, each covering different domains. When you create a calendar with no domains listed, the calendar covers all web sites. When you create a calendar with google.com listed in the “Sites” field, then that calendar only covers the Google sites, such as www.google.com, docs.google.com etc. When there are multiple calendars on a profile, the calendar that most closely matches the site being visited wins. However, if you have two calendars both listing the same domain but with different time ranges, then the behavior is not defined.

@Casino With parental control enabled on the pcWRT router, DNS resolution on connected devices is forced to use DNS settings on the router. So there’s no need to block port 53.

Here’s how to block specific ports.

To block TCP port 8080, enter :8080T in the Blocked URLs box. To block UDP port 23, enter :23U in the Blocked URLs box. To block port 4343 for both TCP and UDP, simply enter :4343.

@Casino Enter tumblr.com in the Blocked URLs box will block all tumblr.com domains.

For the NTP issue, it’s probably easier just to allow the NTP port: enter :123U in the Allowed URLs box.

If you have calendars on the profile, you need to create a new Calendar to allow NTP. Add a calendar to allow full-day access, put :123U in the sites box.

@Casino We don’t want to restrict anything on connected devices unless the user wants to put the restrictions in place.

@Pullmanite Can you connect to the router by WiFi or by wire? Can you access the router management page with http://192.168.10.1 or http://pcwrt.lan? If yes, please send a screenshot of the Status page to [email protected]. If no, please take a picture of the router after it’s fully powered up and sent it. We’ll help you resolve the issue.

@dubyasqrd What is your router model? Does this happen to all connected devices or ones that are further away from the router?

@lihjong Currently there’s a limitation of one remote control router per pcwrt.com login. You may try hook up your old router, go to Cloud settings page, remove the check on remote control then click Save. After that you can disconnect your old router and reconnect your new router.

@RichardGV Good suggestion. Will update the firmware update dialog to display warning for always having a system backup ready before any FW upgrade.

@RichardGV You can use the System Settings page to restore most of your settings (check the “Access Control Only” box in the popup, which is checked by default). Then you need to manually update your WiFi settings.
