@mbrink44 The code has been updated so that you can continuously click the +/- button to get the desired amount, then click Save.
Even if you don’t have remote access, you should still be able to manage the router locally when you are connected to the router, either by WiFi or by wire.
Please check that the device you used to manage the router is connected to the pcWRT router. Then enter http://pcwrt/ or http://192.168.10.1 (replace that with the actual router IP address if you changed it). If you still can’t access the management page, check the IP address on the device. It should be in the same subnet as the router.
@drewbnold These are our suggestions:
google.com
gstatic.com
ggpht.com
ytimg.com
googleusercontent.com
There’s no need to list sub-domains such as m.google.com or www.google.com, etc. Do the same with microsoft.com, netnanny.com, etc. You can allow all edu domains by entering “edu” (without quotes). Check the logs to see if you need to add more domains to the Allowed URLs list. Again, it’s easier to add a top level domain (such as netflix.com) other than the specific domain (e.g., x.y.netflix.com) listed in the list.
@drewbnold If you put a site in the whitelist, the router will use the system default DNS servers (those shown on the Status page) to resolve the white listed domains. Therefore, if you use OpenDNS as your system default DNS server, white listed sites might still be blocked by OpenDNS.
Just for clarification, are you wanting to block all sites other than those listed above for all times? Or do you want to set time limits for the unlisted sites?
@stondona We currently don’t have any bandwidth monitoring functionality. Does your question mean reporting of bandwidth consumed by each device per hour/day etc?
@mdbartel Sorry to hear that you are having trouble with the Internet. We’ll help you resolve the issues.
You may try to reboot the AT&T modem first, with the pcWRT router disconnected. Then reboot and reconnect the pcWRT router. Let us know if this helps restore the Internet.
BTW, what is the model of your AT&T modem? When you lose Internet, does it go away completely or does it slow down? If the problem re-occurs, please send a screenshot of the Status page and the Internet Settings page to [email protected]. Thanks!
@virtuist Please give more details about the issues you are concerned with. I guess you are using the Ubiquiti as a WiFi extender. But what are the problems you were encountering? Were you not able to connect to the router using the same SSID on the Ubiquiti?
@mboldis Thanks for your input. Mobile app is in our plans but is not an immediate priority at present. We are aware that it is awkward to manage the calendars with a smartphone, but it’s doable. You need to use the text mode input instead of the graphic mode. As a stop gap measure, we’ll make improvements to the webapp to make it more mobile friendly. For long term solution, we’ll provide a mobile app.
Thanks for your input! We’re taking a note of this and will try to reproduce it.
The router does not have different policies for different types of devices. You may try to add another device to the same profile and see if you have the same problem. If YouTube works fine for the other device, you can try restarting the Samsung tablet.
Instead of creating a mobile app, we made the webapp mobile compatible. You can use a smartphone to manage the router just the same as what you do with a computer, without the need to install a mobile app.
Good to know it’s working now. Thanks for the update.
Since you are using black list and Google is not blocked by OpenDNS, there’s no need to whitelist the domains.
Google might be blocked because of cached DNS records on the computer. You may try restarting the browser or computer. You may also try turning off block VPN/Proxy TOR, then turn it back on after you confirm that it’s working properly.
By default Google and YouTube are not blocked. You don’t need to whitelist anything. Unless they are blocked by some settings in your profile.
What are your settings like?
